Nicholson visits Enniskillen show
Conservative and Unionist MEP Jim Nicholson visited the Enniskillen show on Wednesday accompanied by local Ulster Unionist MLA Tom Elliott.
Speaking after the visit Mr Nicholson said,
"As I have always said I welcome greatly the opportunity agricultural shows offer to engage with the rural community and farmers across Northern Ireland to listen to their concerns and hear what issues are currently having an impact on rural life and the agriculture industry.
"The Enniskillen show marks the end of the agricultural show season in Northern Ireland and I would like to congratulate the organisers on running such a successful event.
"As the show season draws to a close I have been fortunate this year to have visited a number of agricultural shows across Northern Ireland and pay tribute to all of those involved in making these events so successful.
"Despite the difficulties parts of the agri food sector continue to experience, events like the Enniskillen show prove that the industry is really alive and prepared to take the necessary steps to safeguard its future."
