No room for DUP in Conservatives and Unionists pact

A Conservative Party spokesman has described the Daily Telegraph story about David Cameron 'doing a deal' with the DUP as "tiresome and rubbish".

"If a deal had been done with the DUP, would David Cameron have come to Northern Ireland in such difficult circumstances yesterday to give such high-profile support to our Conservative and Unionist candidates?

"The fact is that David Cameron believes in the deal he has got with the Ulster Unionists.

"It is clear that these briefings are coming from the DUP to try to de-stabilise our relationship with the Ulster Unionists.

"They will not succeed."
